Andrew Melville

 

Andrew is a composer of many pieces for recorder orchestra, including Brightness Falls and Lachrimae Tango, and for smaller recorder groups, his most recent being Three Haiku for Tr, T, T, B and percussion.

He has been conducting recorder groups for some 20 years, is one of the conductors of the London Recorder Orchestra, is Musical Director of the South London branch of the SRP. Andrew also conducts Ruishton Recorders in Somerset, and has run a weekly recorder evening class since 1999 in Wandsworth South West London.

He has also conducted on several recorder courses and is interested in a wide range of music from plainsong to Arvo Pärt and Tallis to tango.
